Hotel Acceptable, Reading.
Breakfast: the NPU was set to Tom Jones. Dear Mother was a big fan of Tom, and the Sistery person took Edie to see Tom (and Elvis) in Los Angeles. Mum preferred Tom. She also had a local pride for the boy along the (Welsh) valley. Tom is good, but not quite my choice of breakfasting music.
Onto the street to get the Minx some tasty lunch. Bright & nippy, the streets not yet crowded.

16.54 Afternoon shopping: warm M&S pajamas now acquired for a slinky slumbering experience; afternoon reading in the John Lewis cafeteria. High Street chain coffee-providers are mostly full, and mostly not supportive of a relaxed reading or coffeeing visit. John Lewis is of a much higher service-calibre, and probably not a likely first-choice for those in search of a cafe. Recommended.
